Required Tesla software

SentryAlert uses Tesla’s Fleet Telemetry. Tesla states that most vehicles need software 2024.26 or later. Model S/X vehicles with Intel Atom computers require 2025.20 or later and the “Allow Third-Party App Data Streaming” option enabled in the Safety screen. Older Model S/X with MCU1 are not compatible with Fleet Telemetry. If your vehicle is not yet compatible, the SentryAlert app will tell you clearly.

Not compatible

Tesla vehicles prior to 2018 are not compatible with Fleet Telemetry and cannot be used with SentryAlert.

Do I need a recent Tesla software version?
Tesla states that most vehicles need software 2024.26 or later. Model S/X with Intel Atom computers require 2025.20 or later and the “Allow Third-Party App Data Streaming” option enabled. Older Model S/X with MCU1 are not compatible with Fleet Telemetry.
Does SentryAlert work with Tesla Fleet Telemetry?
Yes. SentryAlert receives Sentry Mode events through Tesla Fleet Telemetry, Tesla's official data-streaming protocol, using a secure Tesla-approved authorization. It does not access your Sentry camera footage.
