Does Tesla Sentry Mode notify you?
Your Tesla's Sentry Mode watches for suspicious movement (Aware state) and intrusion attempts. The Tesla app notifies mainly for clearer events — the alarm, a door or trunk-open attempt, or sudden movement — so other activity can be recorded without a phone notification.
Some activity can be recorded without triggering a phone notification. SentryAlert adds a fast alert as soon as Tesla reports the event.

According to the official Tesla owner's manual
Sentry Mode sends a phone notification only for specific events: when the alarm is triggered, when someone attempts to open a door or trunk, or when sudden jerky motion is detected. If Tesla does not consider an event a clear threat, the vehicle may record footage without triggering the alarm.
Do you need Tesla Premium Connectivity?
SentryAlert notifications do not require a Tesla Premium Connectivity subscription. Tesla Premium Connectivity is required for Live Camera and provides other connected features; SentryAlert does not provide or replace Live Camera. Your vehicle simply needs to be able to communicate with Tesla via Fleet Telemetry.

As soon as your Tesla reports Aware-state activity, you get a fast alert — activity Tesla may record without pushing to your phone.
Critical alert
If several Sentry events are reported within 90 seconds, you get a high-priority alert — on iOS it even breaks through silent mode via Critical Alerts.
Automatic flash
Automatic flash can trigger in response to a Sentry alarm as a visible, hands-free deterrent.
